Things To Do

Medellín

  • Comuna 13

Communa 13 is a popular tourist destination known for its stunning street art, hip-hop culture, and resilience, symbolizing Medellín's broader revitalization through community-led art, music, dance, and infrastructure projects like outdoor escalators, showcasing a powerful story of overcoming conflict with creativity and hope. We recommend taking a guided tour to learn about the history.

  • Pueblito Paisa

A little replica mountaintop village with the best views over the whole city, and it's a fun spot to grab a coffee or a souvenir.

  • Parque Explora

A hands-on science museum with a big aquarium. A great way to spend a few hours, especially with children.

  • Parque Arví

Take the cable car up through the mountains to a nature park with trails and food stalls, a great half-day trip if you want fresh air and an activity outside of the city.

  • Shopping Malls (Santafé & Oviedo)

Two of the nicer malls in town if you want to shop.

Day Trips

  • Guatapé & El Peñol

A great day trip: colorful little town on the water plus a giant rock you can climb for insane views. Maria and Conor's favorite Colombian restaurant, El Peñol, is named after this.
